Focus on: Hour-by-Hour Dispatches
"Got time to go out to lunch today?"
"Not sure. Things are crazy around here. Maybe tomorrow"
Having visibility in to the number of fleet dispatches in a motor pool on an hour-by-hour basis can do more than help plan your lunch hour. Knowing exactly what is happening in your motor pool throughout the day can help plan staffing and can help use your resources more efficiently.
Most motor pools have busy periods and then periods of inactivity. If you know when these busy times are, you can plan to have staff available to handle the rush. During slow times, you can release the staff for other duties such as inspecting and cleaning vehicles.
The screenshot below (from Agile's FleetCommander web-based software) shows that there is a lull in motor pool activity from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. And there is activity starting up again at 4:00 p.m. Armed with this picture of the day, you can maximize use of your fleet staff.

In addition to seeing the "rushes and lulls", it is helpful to know which vehicles are departing and returning so that your staff can prepare vehicles for leaving, for example. The FleetCommander report below is just one more way to see departures hour-by-hour.
