Annual Agile Gives Back Campaign Supports Fisher House Foundation
Charity supports families of military suffering in hospitals with illness or injury
CHANTILLY, VA, December 2, 2013 -- Agile Access Control, Inc., (Agile), creator of FleetCommander fleet and motor pool software, announces that the Fisher House Foundation is the recipient of the company's 2013 Agile Gives Back Campaign.
Fisher House Foundation is a unique private-public partnership that supports U.S. military families by providing a home away from home for families to stay free of charge during the time their military loved one is hospitalized. Fisher Houses are located in close proximity to military hospitals to facilitate the participation of families during recovery of service people in military hospitals.
This fall, Agile President Ed Smith led the Agile team in a household consumables drive to benefit the Fisher House that is located across from Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir Va. The Agile team funded, collected and delivered a large supply of necessary consumables such as paper products, toiletries, baking staples such as flour and sugar, movie tickets, snack foods, restaurant gift cards, and many other items.
Smith says, "We are impressed with the work the Fisher House is doing to support the U.S. military and their families and we are proud to contribute to their efforts. The goal of our annual Agile Gives Back campaign is to make a difference within our community on behalf of our customers and friends. Since so many of our customers either directly serve the military community or have personally served in the military, the Fisher House Foundation was a perfect choice for this year’s philanthropic effort."
Fisher House officials at Fort Belvoir Fisher House tell Agile, "Our mission at the Fisher House at Fort Belvoir, Va., is to take the best care possible of our military families. It is community members like you who take the time to make the arrangements involved to donate basic household needs for our home that make our community one of the best healing environments available to our wounded warriors and their families."
