EPA Automates with Web-Based FleetCommander FMIS

Motor pool efficiencies expected to further enhance mission of environmental protection

CHANTILLY, VA, January 15, 2013 -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has selected FleetCommander fleet and motor pool software to automate the day-to-day logistics of managing their fleet of vehicles at their Region 7 location. EPA Region 7's fleet serves the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, as well as nine Tribal nations. The announcement was made today by FleetCommander fleet and motor pool software creator Agile Access Control, Inc. (Agile).

"The EPA sought a web-based solution with the ability to be customized without having to make major changes to the system infrastructure," says Agile President Ed Smith. "FleetCommander fits that bill, offering the ability to gather, store, process, monitor, and report on driver and vehicle management, reservations, fuel management, and other government-defined travel data." In addition to sedans, EPA's Region 7 fleet includes trailers, UTVs, and vessels.

"One of the priorities of EPA Region 7 is to protect public health by encouraging industrial and transportation innovation while enforcing a new generation of air quality laws. Improving the efficiency of EPA fleet vehicles with our web-based technology supports that priority as well the EPA's overall mission of public protection," says Smith.
