U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Chooses FleetCommander FMIS
Secure key control, online reservations & reduced burden on staff cited as key reasons for choice
CHANTILLY, VA, December 6, 2012 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has selected FleetCommander fleet and motor pool software to automate their fleet of sedans, sports utility, and fuel-efficient vehicles in their 38-acre headquarters facility in Washington, D.C. The announcement was made today by Agile Access Control, Inc. (Agile), creator of FleetCommander fleet and motor pool software.
According to Fleet Manager Ron Roberson, DHS has relied on paper logs, emails, and incoming telephone calls to schedule vehicles for the thousands of DHS employees who have access to their fleet. Roberson says automating their reservations and dispatching with the FleetCommander unstaffed, secure key control system will enable employees who currently handle those tasks to focus on their non-fleet-related primary duties. Drivers will have access to vehicles 24 x 7. "We can't wait to get the automated system in here," says Roberson. "We'll get instant utilization reports. And we're hoping word will spread and we will be able to bring the solution to our other facilities," he says.
